The following footage was taken by top class field guide, Craig Catton in the Madikwe Game Reserve.
After following the pride of 14 lions for two days Craig and his guests were finally rewarded with what can only be described as an incredible sighting. The entire pride proceeded to fight over a male Impala which they had caught in thick bush. As the footage clearly shows, there was a lot of competition for the meal!
I am very excited that Craig has agreed to do regular guest posts showcasing more of these sorts of sightings from the fantastic Madikwe Game Resrve.

There is some beautiful footage in there preluding the kill, I just wish we could have seen the actual moment when they chased and brought the impala down.
I’m heading to Madikwe for the first time in two weeks, looking forward to seeing the property and hopefully this pride. Do you know which pride it is?
Thanks
Hi Rich
Thanks for the feedback on the clip. I agree, if only the moment of the kill had been captured. I guess that is what keeps us out there in the bush!
The pride featured in the video is the Ketumetsi Pride and the Dithaba and Sepedi males. The prides movements are generally focussed around the Tshukudu node in the eastern region of Madikwe, I am certain that your guide will know of the pride and will be able to keep an ear on the safari channels for any sighting updates.
Cool thanks Andrew, look forward to finding them. Take care and keep the videos coming.
